Overview
Dover Sherborn Middle School’s core values of respect and concern for others, personal responsibility, and excellence in learning are promoted throughout the school community. Enrollment
Dover Sherborn Middle School serves approximately 485 students in grade six through eight. The average class size at DS Middle School is approximately 18-20 students.
Educational Program
The curriculum of the Dover Sherborn Middles School is designed to promote growth and achievement in each of our Dover Sherborn Profile of a Graduate competencies. The curriculum is designed to maximize opportunities for all students. Grade level teams meet weekly to discuss curriculum and student needs.
The classroom curriculum is supported by a strong specialist program, which includes music, art, library, technology, engineering, health, and physical education. Teaching and learning are also enhanced by a robust world language program. The band and chorus programs are available for all students in grades six through eight.
Our well-developed program for students with special needs includes tutorial services, language remediation, and related services. Services focus on maintaining students within the classroom setting whenever feasible. Two school counselors and two social workers/adjustment counselors are available to work with individual or small groups of students as well as parents/guardians.
Matriculation
Students completing eighth grade at Dover Sherborn Middle School continue on to the Dover Sherborn Regional High School for grades nine through twelve. Transition planning occurs throughout the spring.
